Shopify.com Scores 34. Agentic Commerce Is Still 0 of 5.

Live Agent Scan: Shopify 34 and Stripe 22 both clear Signal Basics while ACP, UCP, AP2, x402, and MPP fail. Platform blueprints ≠ your domain’s discovery files.

Shopify.com scores 34 — Agentic Commerce still 0 of 5

Shopify.com scores 34 on Robauto Agent Scan. Stripe.com scores 22. On both domains, the Agentic Commerce tier is still 0 of 5. Signal Basics looks healthy — HTTPS, robots.txt, sitemap, llms.txt, readable HTML. The discovery documents agents need to buy (ACP, UCP, AP2, x402, MPP) are missing from those public marketing hosts. That gap is the story, not a dunk on either company.

Robauto’s free Agent Scan runs 25 read-only checks across four tiers: Signal Basics, Technical Groundwork, Agent Integration, and Agentic Commerce. Re-scanned this morning (America/Denver):

Network context the same morning: Robauto’s classified AI-search pulse sits at 21.25% of page views over 90 days (270,471 AI-classified views / 1,272,840 page views), and the public Agent Readiness Index across most-visited scored sites still shows a median of 18 and a max of 29 (79 scored, 20 blocked) — AI Search Data; Agent Readiness Index.

What “0 of 5” actually means

On shopify.com and stripe.com, every Agentic Commerce check failed in this pass:

CheckWhat agents look forshopify.comstripe.comSpec
ACP /.well-known/acp.json checkout discovery fail fail agenticcommerce.dev
UCP /.well-known/ucp universal checkout profile fail fail UCP overview
AP2 Mandate-based checkout declared on an A2A agent card fail fail AP2 via agent card
x402 HTTP 402 / payment surface for metered agent calls fail fail docs.x402.org
MPP x-payment-info pricing in OpenAPI fail fail OpenAPI payment metadata

Both sites do publish llms.txt (Shopify ~12.5k characters; Stripe ~69.9k). Identity and readability are not the bottleneck. Machine checkout discovery is.

Why this is not a roast of Shopify or Stripe

Corporate marketing hosts are often not the commerce surface merchants actually sell on. Shopify ships Claude-for-commerce examples that stage a UCP checkout and hand off via continue_url without calling complete_checkout (Shopify/claude-for-commerce-examples). Stripe co-built Instant Checkout / ACP with OpenAI so purchase can complete inside ChatGPT while the merchant stays merchant of record (OpenAI; Stripe newsroom). Google’s Universal Commerce Protocol is the open profile agents fetch for AI Mode / Gemini checkout (Google blog, Jan 11, 2026; ucp.dev).

The constructive lesson for brands: platform docs and partner blueprints are not the same as your domain publishing ACP/UCP discovery. Agents that land on your public host still need the files. Passing Signal Basics (llms.txt + robots + sitemap) is necessary and nowhere near sufficient for agentic buy paths.

What “done” looks like on the commerce tier

metareva.com scores 100 with Agentic Commerce 5/5 — ACP discovery with services, UCP 1.0.0, AP2 on the agent card, an x402-protected route, and MPP payment metadata in OpenAPI (scan). robauto.ai scores 98 with the same commerce tier complete (scan). The ceiling is reachable on a public domain today.

What to do this week

  1. Run Agent Scan on the exact host agents will hit (storefront vs marketing vs docs).
  2. If Signal Basics is green and Agentic Commerce is empty, publish ACP and/or UCP discovery first — those map to the Instant Checkout and Google AI surfaces brands already hear about.
  3. Treat platform partner examples as blueprints for your merchant surfaces, not as proof your apex domain is ready.
