“What are you excited about in 2025″?
Along with having a kid, Altman is excited that AGI is here. That is a bold claim as shown in this Y Combinator video.
He doesn’t quite give a deadline for AGI, but says he’s excited because for the first time he knows where to go.
In Summary: There are some known unknowns, but he basically knows the work to be done to reach AGI.
He speaks of the compounding impact as AI gets faster and faster. He thinks there will be an ‘unlock’ that would happen if we had abundant energy powering super intelligence. It will be able to solve physics and analyze the entire universe.
He goes on to explain how AI could be bringing us all into an age of abundance? Solar is on a trajectory to solve this energy-AI problem but it likely will be fusion or some more powerful form of energy generation will be the key.
